STATHS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION NE CHAPTER

ABOUT STATHS NE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

Mission and Objectives Mission:  To provide financial assistance and other support  to St. Andrew Technical High School and its students in Kingston,  Jamaica

In furtherance of the mission stated above, STATHS Alumni Association North East Chapter shall:

Provide a forum for communication between the school and its graduates to encourage the current student body to strive for excellence and maintain the dreams of the  founding members.

Take the necessary steps to raise funds to support STATHS by subscription, promotion of social and cultural activities.

Promote the mutual interest of the Association members provided that this is covered without using the Association as a vehicle for individual self-gain.

Make possible donations for charitable and or educational  purpose.

Co-operate and participate with other organizations whether  incorporated or not which have objectives in whole or part to and similar to the   objectives of the  Association.

S.W. Isaac Henry Track & Field Inaugural Invitational Meet

The S.W. Isaac Henry Track & Field inaugural Invitational Meet was held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.  The Meet was organized and run by the Jamaican Chapter of the STATHS Alumni Association.  Aleeshia Bailey, Public Relations Officer of the New York Chapter of the STATHSNE Alumni Association liasoned with the Jamaican Chapter and worked tirelessly at securing sponsorships for races  and field events, medals, meals and various other funding  for the event.


Tropical Blue Natural Spring Water was the main sponsor of this inaugural Invitational along with  Associate Sponsors  Greater Portmore Pharmacy and La Vega Pharmacy.  Product Sponsor was Honey Bun.  Event Sponsors consisted of Jamaican local businesses, individual alumni members and combined members of various graduating classes.


The Invitational Meet was well represented by athletes from schools all over Jamaica including host St. Andrew Technical High School, Kingston College, Jamaica College, St. Jago High School, Spaulding High School, Camperdown High, G. C. Foster College and other schools from all over the country.

 

Michael Fray and Ruth Williams-Simpson both alumni of STATHS and Olympians were the Honorees of this historical Meet and were at hand to be acknowledged by the crowd.


The feature race the 4x800 meters boys and girls relay had a cash prize of $50,000 and was won by Kingston College and Spaulding High School respectively.
